Breaking in your new mattress
It usually takes a couple of weeks to get accustomed to your new mattress. Here’s how you can help speed up the process.
- Ensure your bedroom is warm
- Remove the plastic sheets and let your mattress breathe for a few hours before you put on your bedding
- Break it in with bodyweight - try laying on your mattress for a few hours while watching TV, or use some books to mimic bodyweight
Caring for your new mattress
- Your mattress does not need to be flipped upside down or rotated
- If using the mattress directly on the floor, you will need to allow air to circulate underneath it.
- You may remove your zip cover and machine wash it. (We recommend washing every six months)
How to clean your mattress WITH stains/odours
- Remove washable cover and cool machine wash at 30°C or less. DO NOT BLEACH or add fabric softener.
- Line dry in the shade (preferred) or tumble dry on low.
- Vacuum the mattress foam surface (Remember to go over the sides as well).
- Spot clean the mattress foam only with a damp cloth and mild soap, rinse with a clean damp cloth to remove any soap residue, and gently squeeze out water.
- Work your way from outside the stain towards the centre in a circular motion
- If a bad odour is present from urine or sweat, fill in a spray bottle with a mixture of 3⁄4 cup water and 1⁄4 cup vinegar, spray and repeat Step 5
- Allow mattress foam to air dry.
